Kundalini Boombox is a collective of world-class musicians purposed towards providing a sacred dance journey for dance adventurers in the 21st century. Formed around the nucleus of keyboardist Kit Walker and drummer Celso Alberti, the vision is to create a live music experience with a global perspective, bringing elements from many different world musics, jazz, funk, and electronica together in one. Kit and Celso both function as live musicians and DJ/programmer/producers on the fly, weaving multi-dimensional jams in with catchy and beautiful melodic arrangements, remixes, and percussion breakdowns. The band is modular, with many world-class musical guests appearing onstage, in various configurations.

The music is specifically designed for "all-chakra" dancing, with multi layered rhythmic elements taking the body into various dimensions of movement. The Kundalini Boombox sound is the result of many years of exploration of dance as meditation, and is at once both energizing and inviting. Although we utilize looping technology and all the tools of modern electronica, we also keep the human element alive in the music as live players, dedicated to our musical interaction with each other as the foundation for the music. It is our intention to provide the best of both worlds, combining the electronic/DJ vibe with live playing, all in real time. Originally, the band came together in 2003 under the auspices of Brazilian percussion master Airto Moreira at the Esalen Arts Festival, in Big Sur, CA, two years in a row, to a rave response from dancers and listeners alike. With influences from around the globe including Brazilian, Mediterranean, Asian, Indian, and African, as well as jazz, funk, rock, electronica and ambient, Kundalini Boombox is whole world music.
